The meeting was at a local coffee shop in Burlington where students of Elon University got to meet with an employee of Yep Roc Records, an independent record label, who has worked with artists such as Aoife O'Donovan, Fountains of Wayne, Golden Suits, The Apples In Stereo. The attendees were able to have a Q&A session with Mariah on things like what day-to-day operations look like for a record label, as a past alumni from Elon University, she found that the music business course that she took was extremely helpful and she expanded on why, and what some of the cool things she was able to do working for Yep Roc (i.e. travel the country to go to festivals, meet and talk to many bands).
