March 12, 2015 to Thursday, we conducted a tour of Shochiku MediaWorX Inc. . The three studios/offices of Shochiku MediaWorX Inc. ( Togeki office , Takanawa studio , Ofuna sound studio ) had been integrated and relocated to Minato Odaiba in December 2014, for the purpose of providing a one-stop production environment. It had been reborn as a state-of-the-art facilities where people can pursuit their creativity.
In greetings at the beginning of the tour, the president of Shochiku MediaWorX Inc., Matsukura Koji, expressed that he would like them to work in more relaxing, comfortable, creative environment. As stated n his comment, each facility room is spacious and relaxing. This tour focused on three rooms:
Relocated from Ofuna sound studios, Dubbing Stage is now located on the high-ceiling 1st floor. Audio Suite, with Dual MAIN systems of AVID ICON D-Control is located on 7F, the facility used to be in Takanawa studio. On the same 7th floor is Media Asset 3 of Management (MAM), a brand new facility focusing on digital re-mastering, archiving video catalogues, restoration, storage, and management service for the old titles. Its purpose is to utilize older video assets more effectively and efficiently.
This tour was the first attempt to co-held by the three respective, established organizations, Japanese Music Studio Association, Japan Mixers Association and AES Japan branch, including the social gathering and exchange of opinions. Having 70 members of these organizations at one place is a very rare, invaluable opportunity, and personally, quite spectacular. I would like to conclude and express my deepest gratitude to those parties and people who helped us to hold a such tour.
