The low frequency sound and vibration inside aircraft and cars is now attenuated using active control systems. Prof. S. J. Elliott (ISVR, University of Southampton) introduced his recent work about the practical demonstration of active control in vehicles and aircraft. Besides, his current research interests including modular systems for active feedback control and modelling the active processes within the cochlear were also presented.
