Florian Camerer discussed the challenges of working with surround sound in digital broadcasting. He described the approach used by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation; describing the signal flow and bottle-necks, alterations to workflow, as well as the preservation and potential uses for metadata. Florian gave a presentation of his various 5.1 location recordings and treated us to a film of his adventures. The presentation closed with a listening session - featuring some of Florian's favourite 5.1 music recordings.
