This paper will trace the development of a digital
preservation program for sound recordings at the Library
of Congress. It will outline the Library�s use of
METS (Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard);
survey the challenges faced in the Library�s
work to create digital objects for public use, comprised
of sound files and images of packaging and accompanying
materials; and review the tools and methods utilized
to create metatdata. |
