Microphones with Multichannel Outputs

A single microphone (phased array) with high directivity covers a 180 degree angle divided in 7 discrete sectors.
The 7 outputsignals can be mixed down to any number of channels from 1 to 7.
We will demonstrate its application as a "left-centre-right" microphone.
Furthermore, two omni's with Diffuse Field Adapters ("DIFA") in A-B configuration are mounted on the array.
These generate surround outputs for the rear channels. Comparisons with conventional stereo will be given. |
