Utilizing Omnidirectional Microphone Arrays for Surround Field Recording
|
Charles FoxUniversity of Regina, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada |
|
The paper explores recently developed acquisition
techniques for surround sound location recording
using experimentation with omnidirectional microphone
arrays in pentarray and pentarray+ configurations.
Field recording methods investigate the ability of
such configurations to reproduce surround sound
imaging through a standard 5.1 loudspeaker arrangement.
Examples of recordings and the results of blind
listening tests are included.
