Two objective measurement techniques have been proposed
that relate the fluctuations in interaural time difference
to one or more attributes of subjective spatial perception.
This paper reviews these measurements, discusses
how these fluctuations may be created in a
real acoustical environment, summarizes the experiments
carried out to elicit the subjective effect of the
fluctuations, and suggests ways in which this research
can be applied to sound reproduction.
