This paper describes a method for analyzing multi-loudspeaker
surround sound algorithms using head-related
transfer function (HRTF) data. Using MATLAB and
Simulink, a number of surround sound systems were
modeled using the MIT Media Labs HRTF set, including
first- and second-order Ambisonics, 5.0, and
stereo dipole systems. The results were then validated
using listening tests.
