As the Solutions Engineering Director at Dolby Laboratories, Mike Babbitt works with content providers, operators, networks and local stations to create, deploy, implement and understand the use of Dolby technologies and next generation audio based upon their specific infrastructure and transmission requirements, as well as helping develop next generation audio delivery specifications for broadcast and OTT content. Mike has assisted in the multichannel broadcast of many high-profile live events such as the Olympics, Grammys, MLB and NFL broadcasts, and has been recognized for this service several times by the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, as well as sharing Emmy Awards for the development of Dolby E and the DP600 Program Optimizer. Mike also travels the world speaking on issues facing broadcast professionals like loudness control, audio metadata and next generation audio. Mike has been in the audio industry for 30+ years and with Dolby Laboratories for more than 20.
