Dan originally graduated from the University of Portsmouth with an honours degree in Music and Sound Technology in 2016. During his time in Portsmouth he concentrated on designing motion controlled auditory programs to be used as therapy tools for individuals with physical and mental disabilities. The development of M.A.V.A ( Music And Visual Aid ), which combined real time auditory and visual feedback based on motion capture data from the Microsoft Kinect, earned Dan both the Audazzle Award for novel use of audio and the Baker Award for music technology.
Upon graduating Dan began postgraduate study at the University of York with an Msc in Audio and Music Technology, of which the focus of his study was interactive spatial audio systems for virtual and augmented reality. Now he is currently working towards a PhD at York investigating the potential of interactive spatial audio systems as a suitable approach to address auditory hypersensitivity in individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
Prior to beginning university in 2016, Dan spent 10 years as a DJ and music producer in both the UK and Europe, and to date he still continues his music production.
