Bryan Hoffa is an Audio Preservation Specialist at the Library of Congress Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation, where he works to digitally preserve the Library’s vast recorded sound collection. Before joining the Library in 2009, he worked a stint at the Library of Virginia but it was in the decade preceding, working as a studio engineer and producer at Sound of Music Studios in Richmond, Virginia, where he honed his skills in the art and science of making records with some of the best in the business. In recent years, he has been involved in many historical reissue projects as a restoration and mastering engineer. In 2012, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on “He Is My Story: The Sanctified Soul of Arizona Dranes” for Tompkins Square Records.
