Florian Grond

Florian Grond is a multimedia artist and post-doctoral fellow at the Biosignal Interaction and Personhood Technology Laboratory at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is also an affiliate member at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology, housed at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. He holds an MSc (2002) from the Karl-Franzens University in Graz (Austria). From 2003 to 2007, he worked as a research associate and guest artist at the Center for Art and Media (ZKM in Karlsruhe, Germany). He has received a doctorate from Bielefeld University, Germany, in 2013 in the field of auditory display and sonification. His artistic and academic work focuses on the intersections between art, technology, and science, with a special interest in sound and disability studies. Currently, he also contributes with 360 sound field recordings and reproductions to the Sound in the City project, a cross-sector research partnership to make cities sound better.
