Kevin Bastyr received his Ph.D. and MS degrees in Acoustics from the Pennsylvania State University. He has been a member of the AES and ASA since 1996, and has written several conference and journal papers. Kevin has worked at Bose, Motorola and Harman International as an advanced acoustic technology and audio product developer, and has experience in numerous areas: From loudspeaker design to speech recognition systems, from directional microphone arrays to active noise cancellation systems. Kevin holds more than 20 granted US patents on technologies including vibrationally balanced subwoofers, new types of acoustic waveguides, piezoceramic alternators, microphone array beamformers, speech recognition systems, automatic speaker equalizing approaches, and automotive sound synthesis and noise cancellation systems.
