TT02 - Church Acoustics and Sonic Heritage
Some of Dublin’s finest architecture—and acoustics—is reflected in its churches. Church acoustics are among the most fascinating and complex of listening spaces.
This technical tour includes a workshop on sonic heritage and acoustic archiving in the18th-century Chapel at Trinity College Dublin. Designed by Sir William Chambers, the chapel is a jewel of 18th-century architecture. It is of note that the earlier chapel in Trinity was built under the provostship of Narcissus Marsh, who coined the word “microphone.”
Capacity limited to 15-20 people. Attendees will meet at the convention center and walk to the church
