TT01 - The Abbey Theatre
The Abbey Theatre is the national theater of Ireland. It was founded in 1904, as part of the Anglo-Irish literary revival, by the poet and playwright W. B. Yeats and noted dramatist Lady Augusta Gregory. Since its foundation, the Abbey has been a significant icon, not just of Irish cultural and literary life, but also of the changing social and political landscape of Ireland.
This technical tour is a bespoke backstage tour of the National Theatre which will take in the main auditorium and stage. It will include a discussion, by a member of the in-house team, of the technical aspects and challenges of the space. A discussion on sound design will take place over tea/coffee in the Abbey bar afterwards.
There is a limit of 20 persons; ticket price is 20 euros; attendees will meet at the convention center and walk to the theater
