Ikhwana Elfitri graduated as Bachelor and Master degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, in 1998 and 2002, respectively. He then completed PhD degree in spatial audio coding at the University of Surrey in 2012.
At the moment, Dr. Elfitri is a full time professor in the area of audio signal processing at Universitas Andalas, Padang, Indonesia. He has published many papers in audio signal processing including the papers in the 2011 Proceedings of the IEEE and 2014 IET Signal Processing, as well as presentation in several IEEE conferences such as 2016 IEEE Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP) in Montreal, Canada, 2017 IEEE Global Conference on Consumer Electronics, (GCCE) in Nagoya, Japan, and 2018 IEEE Region Ten Symposium (Tensymp) in Sydney, Australia. He has also filed and published a patent in spatial audio coding in UK. Prof. Elfitri was an invited speaker in 2015 ET-CMOS in Vancouver, Canada, and 2016 WCSM in Singapore.
Prof. Elfitri is a member of Audio Engineering Society (AES) and Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineer (IEEE).
