Magnus Johansson

Magnus Johansson is Senior Manager Research and Acoustics in 3M’s Personal Safety Division. For over 20 years he has worked with hearing protection and communication headset development, hearing conservation and related topics. He joined AEARO Technologies in 2003, after completing his PhD studies, and in 2008 3M acquired AEARO Technologies and the Peltor brand. Besides working as acoustics and audiology expert within 3M’s R&D organization, Magnus also leads the New Technology Introduction team in Värnamo in Sweden with focus on technologies for future hearing protection and communication solutions. He is actively involved in standardization related to hearing protection devices within ISO and CEN, and chairs the working group on electronic and amplitude-sensitive hearing protectors. Magnus holds an MSc in applied physics and electrical engineering and a PhD in technical audiology from Linköping University in Sweden.
