Dr. Charalampos A. Dimoulas holds a diploma degree (1997) and a PhD degree (2006), both received from the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering, AUTH. In 2008, he received scholarship on post-doctoral research at the Laboratory of Electronic Media, School of Journalism and Mass Communications, AUTH. Both his doctoral dissertation and his post-doc research deal with advanced audio-visual processing and content management techniques for intelligent analysis of prolonged multi-channel recordings. He was elected Lecturer (November 2009), Assistant (June 2014) and Associate Professor (Oct. 2018) of Electronic Media Technology in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, AUTH, where he is currently serving. He leads the “audiovisual team” for the PANDORA robotic vehicle (http://pandora.ee.auth.gr/) project, mainly focusing on audio detection – localization and machine vision tasks. His current scientific interests include media technologies, signal processing, machine learning, media authentication, audiovisual content description and management automation, multimedia semantics, and more. Dr. Dimoulas is member of IEEE, EURASIP and AES.
