William Coleman

William Coleman is a musician, composer and PhD student currently based in the School of Media, Dublin Institute of Technology. His primary research concerns object-based audio and auditory perception with particular regard for strategies to decrease audio file sizes. He is currently investigating perceived hierarchies of importance between sounds in auditory scenes. Other research interests include composition, new instruments for musical expression and creative coding for visual art. He holds a BA in Communications from Dublin City University and an MPhil in Music and Media Technology from Trinity College Dublin.
