Armin Taghipour was born in 1981 in Rasht/Iran. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Guilan (B.Sc., Major Microelectronics) in Iran, and at the University of Hanover (M.Sc., Major Telecommunications - Signal Processing) in Germany. In 2016, he received a doctoral degree in Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from the F-A-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany.
Armin has been working on different topics of audio signal processing since 2008 (incl. perceptual audio coding, audio signal processing for cochlear implants, psychoacoustic experiments, psychoacoustic modelling, environmental acoustics and objective audio quality).
From February 2017 Armin has been working at the Laboratory for Acoustics / Noise Control at the Empa in Switzerland.
