Alan Seefeldt

Alan Seefeldt is a Senior Member of the Research Staff at Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco, CA, where he has been working since 2003. Prior to Dolby, Alan received a B.S. in general engineering from Harvey Mudd College and an M.S. in electrical engineering, focused on signal processing, from MIT. In 2000 he joined the audio research team at the Creative Advanced Technology Center in Scotts Valley, CA, where he worked on entertainment focused audio processing algorithms. Since joining Dolby, Alan has developed and contributed to numerous audio processing technologies such as perceptual loudness based dynamics processing, speaker virtualization, and up-mixing, as well as the integration of these technologies into a unified processing framework. Most recently Alan has been focused on bringing Dolby Atmos into the consumer space, developing technologies to make its adoption as easy as possible.
