Mark R. Thomas

Mark R. P. Thomas received the M.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree from Imperial College London, U.K., in 2006 and 2010, respectively. He is a Member of the Audio Engineering Society, a Member of the Acoustical Society of America a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Between 2011 and 2015 he was an Associate Researcher at the Audio and Acoustics Research Group at Microsoft Research Redmond, USA, where he conducted basic academic research and designed audio capture and rendering technologies for products including Kinect, Surface, and HoloLens. He is currently a Staff Researcher at Dolby Laboratories, San Francisco, USA, where his research focus is in spatial audio capture, reproduction, compression, and perception. Other research interests include glottal-synchronous speech processing, multichannel acoustic signal processing, robust beamforming, acoustic channel equalization, acoustic echo cancelation, binaural rendering, and Fourier acoustics.
