Josh Antonuccio is a lecturer in the Ohio University School of Media Arts & Studies with the Scripps College of Communication and the owner of 3 Elliott Studio, a music and post-production studio in Athens, Ohio.
Josh has worked as a producer and engineer with a multitude of signed and independent artists and developed sound design for both short and feature-length films. He teaches courses on music production and the music industry, mixing fundamentals, sound design, and production for virtual and augmented reality.
Josh helped to co-found the Immersive Media Initiative (IMI) in the Scripps College of Communication, made possible through a near-million dollar innovation grant from Ohio University. He has overseen the development of the audio production resources in the Game Research and Immersive Design lab and has worked on ambisonic sound production and mixing for projects across numerous disciplines including film, music, health care, paleontology, journalism, and psychology. The IMI’s work with Virtual Reality in capturing real world emergency room traumas has been featured in numerous press stories including The Huffington Post, The Columbus Dispatch, and Cardinal Health.
After her debut on Saturday Night Live, Josh and the Immersive Media Initiative worked with Grammy-nominated artist Courtney Barnett to shoot portions of a main stage festival performance for VR. Josh wrote the score and was the audio supervisor for the 360-degree Virtual Reality short film: Re: Disappearing, which debuted in multiple film festivals in the U.S. and around the world.
Josh contributes to national media stories and is the host of the Scripps Visiting Artist Series, which welcomes leaders in the music industry for interviews on the campus of Ohio University. Past guests have included Sharon Van Etten, Bob Boilen of NPR Music, Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo, Jim Eno of Spoon, John Paul White of The Civil Wars, and Thomas Golubic, the music supervisor behind numerous ground-breaking shows including Breaking Bad, Better Caul Saul, and The Walking Dead. He is the producer and host of four seasons of "The Gladden House Sessions", a performance series recorded at the Nelsonville Music Festival, featuring an array of headlining artists including Lake Street Dive, Valerie June, Black Lips, Cloud Nothings, Big Thief, and Pokey LaFarge.
He is a Grammy-Voting member of NARAS and an ASCAP-affiliated songwriter (winning a new songwriters award in 2001). Josh also serves on the advisory board for Groove U, a music industry school in Columbus, OH.
