Steven Fenton

Steven Fenton is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and Engineering at The University Of Huddersfield in the UK. He has a bachelor's degree in Electronic and Information Engineering and a PhD specialising in the proposal of new perceptual based objective models for audio attributes.
He has worked as a Senior Design Engineer and helped develop cutting edge technology within the professional and consumer marketplace. This work encompassed video and audio compression systems, in-car audio, broadcast mixing console development, DSP, analogue audio design, low power embedded development and project management.
As a keen audio enthusiast, he also built and ran a commercial recording studio. Over a 12-year period, he built up a number of credits on album, single and remix releases and continues to engage in production and mastering projects in his spare time.
Steven is an active member of the AES and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is also a member of the Applied Psychoacoustics Lab at the University. His research interests include the measurement of audio quality in music production, audio mastering, broadcast, auto mixing and artificial intelligent systems.
