Alex U. Case – Associate Professor, Sound Recording Technology, University of Massachusetts Lowell – focuses his research on aesthetics, perception, signal processing, history, electro-acoustics and room acoustics for the creation and enjoyment of sound recordings. He has authored two books for Focal Press, and four courses at Lynda.com, codifying effective signal processing practice in sound recording. A Fellow of both the Acoustical Society of America, and the Audio Engineering Society – of which he is currently President – Case has presented 100+ papers and tutorials. His blog, Recordingology.com: The Study of Recording, offers guidance and audio references illustrating all aspects of recording and mixing.
