Rob Byers is a Production Specialist with NPR's Editorial Training Team and mixes the Criminal podcast. Rob has written numerous articles on audio production, helped to bring a loudness standard to the US public radio system, and contributed to the writing of the AES document "Recommendation for Loudness of Audio Streaming and Network File Playback." He previously led part of the audio operations team at Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media where he coordinated a historic live broadcast of the Minnesota Orchestra from Havana, Cuba in May 2015. He has a passion for broadcast audio, music recording, and field recording, and has contributed to a Peabody and a Pulitzer. He’s an avid cyclist, a drummer, and a lover of jazz.
