Doug graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1982. Doug Joined Harris Broadcast Products in 1983 as a Technical Marketing Representative.
In 1985 Doug joined Electro-Voice as a Project Engineer.
In 1988 Doug joined Harman Speaker Manufacturing in Northridge, CA as a Senior Design Engineer.
In 1992 Doug was promoted to Manager of Transducer Development, and in 1996 Doug was promoted the Director of Transducer Development for JBL Professional.
In 1997 Doug was made a fellow of the AES for his contributions to loudspeaker design.
In 1999 Doug was promoted to Vice President of Research and Development of JBL Professional.
In 2013 Doug was awarded the Titanium Driver award by ALMA for his contribution to the industry in transducer design. Doug currently works for the Harman Corporate Technology as the Chief Engineer of Acoustics where the focus of his work has been on beamforming and beamsteering techniques, advancing transducer technology, and aiding the DSP group in developing algorithms for improving loudspeaker performance.
