Richard Hughes received a B.Sc. first-class honours degree in Audio Technology from the University of Salford, UK, in 2006, before completing a Ph.D. at the same institution in 2011 in the area of architectural acoustics. From 2012 to 2014 he worked as a Research Associate at the University of Manchester, UK. He is currently working in the Acoustics Research Centre at Salford as a research fellow as part of the EPSRC-funded project “S3A: Future Spatial Audio for an Immersive Listener Experience at Home”. His research interests include among others: room acoustics; acoustic modelling of rooms, diffuser design and application; array theory and multi-channel systems; binaural and auralization; and digital signal processing.
