20 years in sound, from social sciences, to radio, to on location sound for film, to field recording, to education, to travel the world to collect voices, to audio art / interaction / anthropology and geology, to music composition, french sound activist, educator and musician Gaël Segalen (aka IhearU) has a very diverse experience in sound and is focused on polylistening, dissonance and new music, as well as create people's encounter in improvisation spaces. She believes all the noises she has collected or manipulated, can coexist in in one inclusive spirit, here and now, and transposes the complexity of the world into soundscapes and DFR compositions (Danceable Field Recording).
About to release her debut album on Erratum (june 2016), she has a diploma in concrete and electroacoustic composition in the lineage of the GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales), has worked with parisian Collectif Mu since 2005 on sound art projects, co-signs the piece and performance “Vertigo” with Joachim Montessuis, collaborates with Afrikan Sciences on their duo “Les Graciés” (debut album on Firecracker Recordings in august 2016), conducts sound workshops for specific publics, composes music for films and installations.
