Secondary Affiliation: University of Surrey - Guildford, Surrey, UK

Cleo studied music production at the Academy of Contemporary Music and has PhD in Psychoacoustics from the Institute of Sound Recording at the University of Surrey. Cleo's PhD involved examining how humans compensate for spectral distortion caused by transmission channels such as loudspeakers and listening rooms. Cleo is interested in how machine listeners can be made to hear more like a humans and more specifically how machines might be programmed to adapt to the acoustical environment like a human. She is interested in theoretical and statistical models of this process.

Before and during her PhD Cleo worked as a research statistician and statistics lecturer at Barts and the London School of Medicine and she is currently working as a Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews in Scotland where she is modelling how the brain combines multi-sensory signals.
