Jack Kelly

Jack Kelly has been an active recording engineer, musician, composer, and sound designer since 2008. He began his career as the guitarist / bassist and founding member of the progressive instrumental rock band Sweet Mother Logic. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Electroacoustic composition at Concordia University, where he graduated with distinction. For the past three years he was been pursuing his Master's degree in sound recording at McGill University under esteemed professors Richard King, George Massenburg, Martha DeFrancisco, Wieslaw Woszczyk and Steven Epstein. Jack produces music in all genres, and has worked with notable artists such as cellist Matt Haimovitz, pianist André Laplante, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, Collectif9, The New Orford String Quartet, violinist Kerson Leong, pianist Phil Chiu, Pronto Musica (conducted by Maestro Alexis Hauser), McGill Symphony Orchestra, the McGill Contemporary Music Ensemble, Joe Sullivan's Big Band, Handsford Rowe's HR3, Danilo Perez and the McGill Jazz Orchestra, and the Kevin Dean Quintet. In addition to his recording career, he will be pursing research in sound recording as a PhD student at McGill University, beginning in the fall of 2016.
