Mike began his engineering career with BBC Radio in London, then moved into industrial electronics developing high performance servo motor systems with S.R. Drives Ltd - then a university spin-off.
Mike has remained with the company through various acquisitions, most recently the disk-drive motor specialist Nidec Corporation of Japan, and is now Group Technical Director for research facilities in Harrogate, England and a sister drives manufacturing business in Beijing.
Mike has retained his life-long passion for music and audio engineering, and has for some years been researching active control of loudspeaker motors, for which he was awarded a PhD in 2010. He is a UK Chartered Engineer and IEEE member.
