Andrew Eales

Following music studies at the University of Pretoria, Andrew Eales worked as a freelance clarinetist with the State Opera orchestra in South Africa. He later joined the faculties of the University of Fort Hare and Rhodes University. Graduate studies in Computer Science led to research work in spatial sound and music notation software. In 2015, he completed a Ph.D. that investigated control protocols for audio networks. Since 2008 he has lived in Wellington, New Zealand, where he taught software development courses at the Wellington Institute of Technology. Andrew is a member of the AES Working Group on Audio Applications of Networks and the AES Technical Committee for Networked Audio Systems. He currently works as a researcher and consultant.
