Naotaka Tsunoda was born in 1967 in Tokyo Japan.
Most of his interest in childhood days were mainly focused on every mechanics and electronics. Especially mechanics which generating sounds attracted his mind.
At the age of 4, he started to learn playing piano. This is one of the hateful thing for him at that time but this is what leaded him to his life work; "Audio". (Unfortunately, he is not a good pianist until now...)
He built a stereo amplifier by his own design at 14 years old. This set him his direction to a professional audio designer.
In 1991, after graduation of master's course at Keio University in Japan, he joined to Sony Corporation and started his career as a headphone designer. Since then he has been working on both acoustic and mechanical area.
One of his technical topic in his work was development of headphone device called "HD Driver Units" which was introduced to market with "Qualia 010" headphones (also his design) in 2004. This enabled ultra wide range reproduction from sub bass to very high frequency of 120 kHz by single full range unit.
Current his role in the company is to lead the development of headphone acoustic and principal design of products.
