Mike inherited an affinity for knobs and buttons from his airline pilot father, but instead of learning to fly, as a student instead aimed for the nexus of technology and aesthetic in the world of entertainment. He ran live sound, installed studios and fabricated custom electronics in the early 80’s before settling solely into the world of the recording studio.
Working primarily in Nashville Tennessee, Mike has been a recordist and mixer for over 30 years with artists such as Martina McBride, Keith Urban, The Dixie Chicks, The Mavericks, Patty Griffin, Richard Thompson, and Robert Plant- as well as many other talented artists that you should have gotten to hear.
Mike has focused on album production for majority of that time with occasional forays into film and advertising work, but most recently has spent the bulk of his time recording and mixing the music of ABC’s prime-time drama NASHVILLE, while still getting a few albums done in his spare time. In the future, he would like to get more sleep.
