Brian Jackson is a music producer, electronic musician, audio engineer, educator, consultant, philosopher, and author of "The Music Producer's Survival Guide: Chaos, Creativity, and Career in Independent and Electronic Music” (iempsg.com). Brian is an expert instructor with more than 20 years of teaching experience, and is equally comfortable with lecturing to large groups, or intimate one-on-one training.
Brian's involvement in DIY, independent, and underground music culture started in Detroit more than two decades ago. He has produced various styles of electronic music, played bass in bands, promoted club events, attempted a record label, as well as Djing after-hours parties. From award-winning experimental video to TV shows such as 24, his sounds have been heard worldwide. He uses the pseudonyms Infinite Volume and Cyphony for solo works and remixes, was half of the conceptual retro-future electro synth A/V duo Memory Systems, and co-founded the genre-bending band "I Am Spoonbender" (1997-2000). Whether assuming the role of engineer, remixer, or consultant, he's worked with the likes of Neurosis (Tribes of Neurot), Idris Elba, Chris Baio (Vampire Weekend), Bombay Dub Orchestra, Dion Roy, Chemlab, Dj Riz, Ableton, Access (Virus synthesizers), supporting members of The B-52's, Cyndi Lauper, and Rufus Wainwright, and more.
