Dan Beck

Dan Beck is internationally recognized as an authoritative voice and innovator within the music and entertainment industry and has played a crucial role in marketing virtually every genre of contemporary music. As VP of Sony Entertainment Group, Dan played a critical role in launching Michael Jackson's 1995 hit album, "HIStory." During the early 1980's, Beck became one of the initial creators of music videos and pioneer closed captioning to the music video industry. Dan current position is trustee of The Music Performance Trust Fund, a non-profit initiative of the major record companies, Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) which provides grants for free live music events at schools, hospitals, community and civic events throughout the United States and Canada. Beck has enjoyed a long and storied career in the music industry, including 20 years in the marketing department at Epic Records, culminating as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He also founded V2 Records in North America, as well as co-founded Big Honcho Media, LLC, a boutique entertainment marketing firm. In addition, he has served as an industry consultant, artist manager, and songwriter. He Executive Produced the recently released documentary Broke*, which explores the sustainability challenges faced by emerging indie artists. As a nationally recognized advocate for the hearing impaired, Dan launched "The Hearing Aid Music Foundation," and produced "Listen Smart", the hearing conservation rockumentary film which won a Cine Golden Eagle Award. Dan serves as Board of Director for H.E.A.R., Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers.
