Peter Stevens

For much of his professional life, Peter Stevens has worked on the transport of audio over various mediums, from the transmission over short wave for BBC World Service, Digital Audio Broadcasting, journalist contributions using Audio over IP and currently with the BBC R&D’s IP Studio project to develop a new broadcasting system.
He is a key member of the EBU’s ACIP group that developed the interoperability specification for the replacement of ISDN with IP for audio contribution and more recently chaired the task group that developed the ACIP profiles specification. Contributed to the organisation and participated in the two EBU ACIP and first AES47 interoperability plugfests held at IRT, Munich.
He has presented at various AES conventions on the topics of control and monitoring systems for networked digital media devices and Audio over IP, including a practical tutorial on the Basics of Audio of IP at the 130th AES convention in 2011.
He is a member of a number of AES groups associated with networked audio and contributed to the development of the AES67 specification.
