TT4 - Dreamsound Studio/51 Studio

Abstract:
Dreamsound, one of the leading film sound postproduction
facilities in Poland, was established in 2006. The studio produces sound for cinema and television movies. To enhance its services offered to the film industry, Dreamsound launched in 2014 the first Dolby Atmos re-recording stage in Poland. The very stringent technical standards enforced by Dolby Laboratories were fulfilled in the room acoustic design of the studio by Ewa Wieckowska-Kosmala and Magdalena Czechowska (EWKAkustika) and in the audio/video equipment set-up designed by MITKOM Artur Mitrosz. The result is a 36‘×26‘×16 ft (11 x 8 x 5 m) film sound mixing studio with a 21‘x9.5 ft (6.3 x 2.8 m) screen. The studio is equipped with a Dolby Atmos configuration of JBL loudspeakers, a 32-channel Digidesign D-Control desk, and three Pro Tools HD systems.
Wytwórnia Filmów Dokumentalnych i Fabularnych (Documentary and Feature Film Production Company) is a major movie production center in Poland. Its main film sound facility, the S1 Studio, was opened at the turn of 1999 and 2000. S1 is a Dolby- and THX-certified studio for film sound mixing and postproduction. It was the first fully digital studio in Poland equipped with AMS Neve DFC, a film sound mixing console honored with the Oscar Technical Award. Owing to its outstanding room acoustic quality and state-of-the-art equipment, the S1 Studio has been very highly valued in the film production industry and has become a benchmark for film sound studios in Poland. The list of productions made at the S1 Studio includes numerous renowned films by internationally acclaimed directors, such as Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi and many others.

Pavel Stverak will present this tour.
