Abstract:
Telewizja Polska S.A. is the biggest public TV broadcaster in Poland with 12 TV channels and 16 Regional Stations. At the present time, more than 60 years of programs have been archived in the Documentation Center including about 440,000 tapes and more than 125,000 films. Old films are scanned in 4k and 2k resolution. State of the art restoration and color correction is administered using world renowned high-end hardware and software systems such as: Lasergraphics Director 4k, Cintel Millenium II 2k, DaVinci 2k, DaVinci Revival, and Phoenix film restoration and color correction software. Dolby Professional Reference Monitors PRM-4200 are used to test the color of the material, rendering the most accurate highlights and dark areas, displaying DCI P3 full space of colors. Similarly, advanced technology is used for audio restoration. Additionally film production and postproduction studios with a Foley Room, HD TVP studio and OB VAN will all be open to AES visitors.
