Lasse Nipkow (b. 1972) studied electrical engineering at the Techikum Winterthur (known today as the Zurich University of Applied Sciences - ZHAW) after completing an apprenticeship as an electronic technician at Studer Revox. Ever since, he has worked at the Institute of Mechatronic Systems as a research assistant and scientific staff member (since 2007 as a project leader in R&D projects). In 2003 he passed the Swiss certification exam for sound engineers. Since 2005 he has also worked as a sound engineer at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and since 2008 as a lecturer at the TTS sound technician school. In 2005 he started the company Silent Work LLC, which focuses on empirical research in the field of applied psychoacoustics in sound recordings.
