George Papanikolaou

George Papanikolaou is professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is Telecommunications Electronic Engineer with a PhD in Electroacoustics. He is a founding member of the Department of Music Studies, and of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. His research interests are in the fields of Acoustics and Electroacoustics, Sound Systems, Music and Audio Technology, Acoustics of Musical Instruments, Studio Recording Techniques, HD Television (HDTV) and Digital Cinema (D-Cinema), HD broadcasting over broadband networks, new ICT technologies on Distance-Learning (e-learning) and interactive learning environments.
He is a member of several Scientific Institutes i.e. Acoustical Society of America, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Hellenic Institute of Acoustics, etc.
