Wonkyu Moon

Dr. Wonkyu Moon was born in Seoul. He received the degrees of B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Seoul National University in 1984, from Korea Advanced Institute of Science (KAIST) in 1986 and from the University of Texas at Austin in 1995, respectively. After he served as a researcher in the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute from 1986 to 1990, a member of research staff in Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology from 1996. Since 1998 he is serving as a professor in mechanical engineering of Pohang University of Science and Technology (Postech). Dr. Moon has been working on various transducers such as Parametric Array loudspeakers, MEMS microphones and hydrophones, Encoder-like capacitive displacement sensors, and a SPM probe for surface electrical properties.
