Ian Dash lives in Sydney, Australia. He studied at the University of Sydney, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. His work has included:
- Planning and installing studio, communications and network facilities at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, including a senior technical role in building and fitting out the ABC’s Ultimo Radio and Orchestra complex.
- Designing power amplifiers and other equipment at Australian Monitor Pty Ltd.
- Coordinating the Graduate Audio Program at the University of Sydney. In between teaching, he gained a research Master’s degree in Design Science in 1997 on the topic of phase delay and a PhD in 2005 on the topic of acoustic scattering.
- Research and standards work at the ABC where he currently works.
His professional interests include electronic and electroacoustic design, psychoacoustics, architectural acoustics and physical acoustics.
