Brian Oppegaard is a 30 year veteran in the audio industry. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering where he studied under Dr Eugene Patronis and Dr. Marshall Leach. He worked at UREI and JBL on the 813 studio monitor and other loudspeaker projects, then joined QSC Audio where he was Director of Engineering for 11 years developing the Series 1, MX, EX and Powerlight amplifier series. He developed the first Cobranet connected self powered loudspeakers during a 7 year stint as Director of Engineering at Renkus-Heinz. In 2002, he formed SpeakerPower Inc., to design and manufacture OEM power amplifier modules for self powered speakers to the loudspeaker industry. He is a member of AES. IEEE and the ASA.
