Sean Richardson is a leading innovator in the audio industry today. He is the Director/Principal Audio Engineer for Starz Entertainment services and responsible for creating innovative audio for them as well. This includes, a staff of audio professionals with more than 120 years total creative production experience. With this vast experience, the audio department at Starz has been able to provide an exceptionally high quality product over diverse types of media.
Developing Innovative Technology
Mr. Richardson has been instrumental in developing techniques for broadcasting in Dolby 5.1/7.1/Virtual sound and other file-based video/audio emerging technologies. He sets deliverable standards for all incoming long and short form original programming and is the expert for encoding/metadata for audio technology in transmission for Starz Entertainment.
Since 1998, Mr. Richardson has been involved in the initial testing of the company’s 5.1 linear channel launches. This involved the first airing of 5.1 interstitial content, testing of workflows which involved creating advanced surround sound audio content for broadcast in the United States.
Sean Richardson has designed and constructed nine total audio suites with the help of Starz Facilities, J2 Design, Russ Berger Design Group, Starz Engineering and Starz Project Management.
