Jonathan Pines, owner of Private Studios in Urbana, IL, AES and Recording Academy P&E Committee member, has been a record producer and recording engineer for more than 25 years. With over 15 million records sold, he has recorded a diverse group of artists including Adrian Belew, Eminem, Wilco, Alison Krauss, I Fight Dragons, The Keene Brothers, David Vandervelde, Menthol, Gin Blossoms, Champaign, Jay Bennett, Luther Ingram, and Tommy Keene.
Since 2010, he has been the Director of Strategic Operations for Rupert Neve Designs and Fingerprint Audio [which distributes sE Electronics in the America's]. He has expanded both companies’ endorsees to include Engineers, FOH, ME, and Producers who work in the studio and live with Black Sabbath, Paramore, Linkin Park, Justin Timberlake, My Morning Jacket, Keith Urban, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Band of Horses, Kings of Leon, Floggin’ Molly, Dapkings, KT Tunstall, Rusted Root, Motley Cru, Jay-Z, and more.
He has consulted for Pro Audio manufacturers including Amek, Alesis, Harman, RND, Shure, TC Electronics, as well as The National Center For Supercomputing Applications, Sears, numerous Universities, and many studios. Jonathan continues to record new and established artists and frequently lectures and demonstrates at regional AES meetings, the Recording Academy [NARAS] events, BADASS, Potluck Audio Con, and other educational events.
