Born and raised in México City, graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1993 from Boston’s Berklee College of Music with a major in Commercial Arranging moving back to his home town soon after to further developed his career as Songwriter, Arranger and Producer.
Early in his career he helped develop artists such as Sin Bandera, Natalia Lafourcade Motel and HaAsh.
Among his Songwriting and Production credits are: Alejandro Fernandez, Paty Cantú, Natalia Lafourcade, Motel, Sin Bandera, Aleks Syntek, La oreja de Van Gogh, Thalia, Chayanne, Leonel Garcia, Moderatto, Moenia, Kalimba, Axel, Beto Cuevas, Circo, Gianmarco, Lu, Mario Domm, Benny Ibarra among many others.
He was Music Director for the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Jalisco and now repeating the role for this year's Central American Games in Veracruz, México.
His recent work includes new albums by Ximena Sariñana, Francisca Valenzuela, Alejandro Fernandez and Leonel Garcia.
Some of his most successful songs are: “Estes en donde estes” and “No te quiero nada” by Ha-Ash, “Te voy a Perder” by Alejandro Fernandez and “Sirena” by Sin Bandera (this last two co-written with Leonel Garcia).
Aureo has won 3 Latin Grammy’s and his work has received over 12 Latin Grammy nominations including 2 for Producer of the year and one for Song of the year, 2 Grammy Nominations and 2 Latin Billboard nominations for Producer of the year.
As a songwriter he has received:
-5 SACM (México’s authors and composers society) awards for one of the 12 most played songs in a year.
-1 ASCAP Award for most performed Pop/Ballad song in 2009
-1 BMI Award for most performed Latin song in 2009
