AES Los Angeles 2014 Presenter or Author
Jeff Keith
Primary Affiliation: Wheatstone Corporation - New Bern, NC, USA
Jeff Keith is the Senior Product Development Engineer for Wheatstone Corporation's Audio Processing division. Jeff joined Wheatstone nearly 8 years ago and has been intimately involved in commercial audio processor design since 1999. Prior to that spent he 30 years as Chief Engineer and processing consultant for various medium market stations around the Eastern half of the U.S.
Over the years he’s designed and built many custom audio processors and modified others to solve processing challenges for stations where he worked. Those efforts made Jeff quite well known for the audio processing creativity behind the best sounding radio stations in markets where he’s worked.
Cutting his audio processing teeth back in the days of analog and when diodes still had filaments, Jeff’s interest in audio processing now spans 45 years. He still occasionally designs in the analog domain just for fun, but prefers the digital precision of DSP where his designs can achieve a level of perfection and repeatability impossible to achieve in the analog domain.
Jeff is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and the IEEE, and holds Senior Memberships in the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) and the International Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (iNARTE). He’s been an SBE Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer and iNARTE certified RF “Master Engineer” for nearly 30 years, and in 1995 and 1996 was awarded the “Engineer of the Year” award by the Central Florida Chapter of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
